Mt. Fuji, Japan
Mt. Fuji is the highest peak in Japan. Elevation--12,388 ft (3,776 km). Mt. Fuji is an active stratovolcano. It last erupted in 1707. It is located 62 miles (100 km) south-west of Tokyo, and is visable from there on a clear day. It is considered one of Japans three "holy" mountains. It is frequently depicted in art and photographs.
